A little guidance for your next fix. Follow these steps to cabin air filter replacement for your Ram 1500.

Weak airflow, a musty A/C smell or slow defogging on your Ram 1500 usually means a clogged cabin air filter. On the 2019–2024 Ram 1500 it's behind the glove box on the passenger side on most trims. Replace it every 15,000–20,000 miles or once a year.

Open the glove box on the passenger side and take everything out.

Release the damper arm if fitted and squeeze or unclip the glove box stops so it swings down. On some trims you unscrew or unclip the glove box entirely — don't force it.

Squeeze the tabs on the rectangular cover behind the glove box and pull it off.

Slide the old filter out and note the AIR FLOW arrow direction.

Slide the new filter in with the arrow pointing the same way, refit the cover and the glove box, then test the fan on high.
